Description
Jean Jacque-Louie and the Secret Society of Lost Souls may be a book populated by a number of social pariahs living on the very fringes of society, but that still doesn't mean it can't be a story of passion and uncompromising love. Quite the contrary, it is full of all that kind of stuff, just viewed from a slightly different angle and acted out by people that just don't seem that real. But that is only because they are all acting out the kind of life they can only live when they are in the company of others who have shared similar experiences to themselves.
Like for instance Jean Jacque-Louie, who not only realises the moment he is introduced to all the other members, just how unbelievably naive he has previously been, but also that life still has a lot more in store for him than he would have previously ever imagined. Like for instance the opportunity to forget his past mistakes and start a fresh in a new relationship with the woman who invited him to join the society in the first place. However, it doesn't take him that long to discover that not only can't he take her spiteful ways and wicked taunts, but she, along with all the other members of the society despise him almost as much as he does them and they do each other. A revelation that very quickly leads him to consider whether, what he would have previously thought of as unthinkable, might in all their particular cases, including his own, be the greater kindness.
